If ever I stopped thinking about mountains…

…I’d be dead! This is a quick post to say that hey, while my hands are busy getting bolts torqued just so, and my front-mind is occupied by the daily forensic problem solving of whatever bicycle issues roll in the door, background processes are churning.

Over the last two month’s I’ve completed an Auto-ATES (Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale) analysis of Australia’s major ski regions, including most resorts. A full writeup including reasons why, and how I see this applied to Australian skiing terrain, will turn up on spatialised.net fairly soon.

This is just a taster. The feature image for this post shows the Blue Lake (NSW) area and Mt Twynam, coloured by ATES class. Stay tuned!
